Right to Know Request & Transparency in Coverage Rule

Right-to-Know Requests (Public Records Requests)
The Whitehall Township Authority is committed to transparency and providing access to public records in accordance with the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL), Act 3 of 2008.

All Right-to-Know requests are handled by the Authority’s Office Manager:

How to Submit a Request

Requests for public records must be submitted in writing. You may submit your request using one of the following methods:

Response Time
The Authority will respond to all Right-to-Know requests within five (5) business days of receipt.
If additional time is needed, a written notice of extension will be provided in accordance with the law.

Fees
Applicable fees for duplication, certification, or postage may apply as permitted under the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. Payment may be required prior to the release of records.

Important Information

• Requests must clearly identify the records being sought

• The Authority is not required to create a record that does not already exist

• Certain records may be exempt from disclosure under the law

• Requests may be denied if they do not comply with RTKL requirements
  
  

Appeals

If your request is denied in whole or in part, you have the right to file an appeal within 15 business days of the mailing date of the Authority’s response.
