Dear Water Customer:

This letter shall serve as your final notice of the intention of the Whitehall Township Authority to terminate your water service in ten (10) days from the date of this letter unless all water service charges, including penalties and or administrative fees are paid in full. If during the said ten (10) day period, the person liable for the payment of all such charges and fees delivers to the Authority a written statement under oath or affirmation, stating that he has a just defense to the claim, or part of it, for such charges and fees, then the water supply shall not be shut off until the claim has been judicially determined. The statement shall also contain a declaration under oath or affirmation that it was not executed for the purpose of delay. The authority to impose penalties and or fees are provided by Resolution 5-1999, Resolution 2-2019 and the pertinent sections of our Rules and Regulations. Copies of each and or all of the before mentioned will be provided upon request. Resolution 2-2019 provides for the imposition of certain attorney fees should the Authority be forced to file a municipal lien against your property to protect its rights. While no final decision has been made to file such a municipal lien, we are obligated to inform you that the advance notice requirements of the State legislation with respect to attorney fees and any filing of a municipal lien shall begin as of this date should we move forward in this regard. Also you should be aware that you can avoid such fees by the prompt and reasonable payment of your outstanding balance to this Authority.
If you are unable to pay your past due water service balance in full and or any other fees charged to your account, please contact the Authority immediately so that a payment schedule can be agreed to prior to any termination of your water supply. In accordance with the requirements of State law and or the pertinent resolutions of this Authority, a copy of this certified letter shall also be sent to you by first class general mail delivery and a copy posted near the front door of your property.
Your prompt attention to this matter is certainly in your best interest. If water service is terminated for the non-payment of a water service bill(s), the following shall apply with respect to the restoration of water service to the affected property after all payments due and owing the Authority have been paid at the office of the Authority. If payment in full is received in the office of the Authority prior to 3:00 PM (prevailing time) on any business day, water service shall be restored as promptly as possible before the end of the same work day (3:30 PM). If payment in full is received after 3:00 PM (prevailing time), water service shall not be restored until the following work day.

DO YOU HAVE A FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM

If you have an existing fire sprinkler system, you should be advised that if your water is terminated for the non-payment of water service bills, failure to comply with the Authority Rules and Regulations or for any other reason, you will lose all water service including any fire protection for your property.

Please do not hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions or comments!
